Inflation in Mykolaiv region: what prices have risen the most

In Mykolaiv region, inflation rose by 0.6% in August. Prices rose for some food and beverages. On the contrary, prices for fruits decreased.

This was reported by the Main Department of Statistics in Mykolaiv region.

According to the report, eggs have risen in price the most, with their price increasing by 16.1%. Food and non-alcoholic beverages rose by 0.9% overall. In particular, prices for sugar, dairy products, butter, vegetables, and bread rose by 1.9-4.4%. At the same time, fruit prices fell by 8.2%.

Prices also fell for clothing and footwear - by 5.2%, due to seasonal promotional offers for summer goods.

In transportation, prices rose by 0.5% due to higher prices for lubricants (by 7.2%) and liquefied gas (by 5.1%), as well as transportation services (by 3.4%) and car maintenance (by 3.2%).

In the communications sector, prices rose by 1.4%, driven by a 2.0% increase in the cost of the Internet and a 1.0% increase in mobile communications.

In June 2024, consumer prices in Mykolaiv region increased by 2.9% compared to May. The month-on-month jump was primarily driven by an increase in electricity tariffs.

In May, inflation in Mykolaiv region increased by 0.3%. Prices rose for both food and fuel.

In the first quarter of 2024, Mykolaiv region earned more than two hundred million US dollars from exports. Currently, most exports are made to the European Union.

Due to the blocking of port infrastructure, including in Mykolaiv region, the export potential of agricultural production has significantly decreased. In 2023, exports of agricultural products amounted to only 900 million USD.
