The men who were returned from the Russian-Georgian border were sent to the territorial recruitment center, from where some of them have already been released.

This was reported by Hanna Skrypka , legal adviser of the organization "Prisoners' Defense of Ukraine" on the "Suspilne. Studio TV program.

According to her, about 40 men who were brought from the Russian-Georgian border to Ukraine are currently being held in the Odesa TCC and JV. In total, 65 people were returned to Ukraine, including 10 women. All of them were brought to an Odesa hospital on Friday, August 22, where they were examined by doctors. As of now, Ms. Skrypka noted, 11 men have been released.

The men were promised that they would only be registered, removed from the wanted list of the TCC and JV and issued travel documents so that they would not have problems at intercity checkpoints. If the men did not report to the TCC after the documents were restored, they could be put on the administrative wanted list, the lawyer said.

On August 22, 65 people who had been held in the buffer zone on the Russian-Georgian border at Dariani were returned to Ukraine. Earlier, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine had already organized the return of a total of 44 citizens. Thus, the total number of Ukrainians returned from the Dariani checkpoint in the previous months amounted to 109 people.

Russia is sending Ukrainians to the Russian-Georgian border who were initially convicted and imprisoned in the territories of Ukraine temporarily occupied by Russia. the Russian Federation forcibly transferred Ukrainians from the territory of Ukraine to its own colonies, and after serving their sentences, deported them from the country.

On July 20, the Georgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that it could not allow Ukrainians to enter the country from the transit point due to "security interests" and invalid documents.

Georgia offered Ukraine two options for the return of Ukrainians: sea transportation or air transportation.
