In Odesa, a deputy was sentenced to 5 years for construction schemes

The HACC sentenced a deputy of the district council in Odesa region to five years in prison for attempting to organize a bribe. The funds were intended for officials of the village council for the allocation of land for construction.

This was reported by the press service of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office.

The court sentenced a deputy of one of the district councils of Odesa region, who was found guilty of inciting bribery of local officials, to five years in prison.

On August 12, 2025, the High Anti-Corruption Court found him guilty of attempting to transfer USD 450,000 to deputies and officials of a village council to resolve the issue of allocating land plots in the region for further development.

He was charged with several articles of the Criminal Code, including incitement to give an unlawful benefit and fraud. In addition to imprisonment, the court ordered the confiscation of all property belonging to the convict. The verdict will take effect in 30 days if not appealed.

In early June, detectives of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine, together with the police, detained a deputy of the Odesa Regional Council, who headed one of the standing committees of the regional council, red-handed.

According to the investigation, the official demanded and received an illegal benefit from the director of a hospital. He demanded money for not interfering with the hospital's work and promised the director to help him keep his job. The bribe transfer was recorded by law enforcement.

Another case occurred in March. In Odesa, a deputy head of one of the departments of the Main Department of the State Geocadastre in the region was detained for bribery. Investigators found out that the official organized a bribe of $3,000 for issuing land permits. In case of refusal to hand over the money, the official threatened to create artificial obstacles and block the land registration process.
