In Mykolaiv, veterans will be paid for sanatorium treatment in 2026

In Mykolaiv, the executive committee of the city council has approved the procedure for reimbursing the cost of sanatorium treatment for war veterans for 2026.

As Intent learned during a meeting of the executive committee of the Mykolaiv City Council, the decision was made as part of the city's Social Protection program.

The document provides for free vouchers for persons with war-related disabilities of groups I-III, and veterans with disabilities of group I will be able to undergo treatment together with their accompanying persons.

Veterans will have the right to choose sanatoriums and health resorts in Ukraine in accordance with their treatment profile. In order to receive compensation, they must apply to the district social benefits departments with an application and a package of documents, including a war-related disability certificate and a medical certificate.

Vouchers will be provided for a period of 18 days no more than once a year.

The decision also determined the maximum cost of vouchers. For persons with war-related disabilities, it will be up to UAH 15,030, and for accompanying persons - up to UAH 12,024.

The document states that the funding will be provided from the budget of the Mykolaiv City Territorial Community.

As a reminder, today during the meeting, the executive committee decided to amend the list of objects damaged as a result of Russian aggression that require immediate dismantling.

Earlier, the Executive Committee of Mykolaiv City Council approved changes to the community budget for 2026.

According to the updated figures, total budget expenditures amount to over UAH 6.9 billion. Of this amount, about UAH 5.4 billion is allocated to the general fund, which covers salaries for public sector employees, utility bills, and support for the city's vital functions. Almost UAH 1.5 billion more is provided for in the special fund, which is used for development and capital expenditures.
