The Executive Committee of Mykolaiv City Council has approved changes to the community budget for 2026.

This became known during a meeting of the Executive Committee of the Mykolaiv City Council.

According to the updated figures, total budget expenditures amount to over UAH 6.9 billion. Of this amount, about UAH 5.4 billion is allocated to the general fund, which covers salaries for public sector employees, utility bills and support for the city's vital functions. Almost UAH 1.5 billion is allocated to a special fund for development and capital expenditures.

More than UAH 5.1 billion is planned to be spent on the implementation of city programs, in particular in the areas of social protection, education and housing and communal services.

According to Vira Svyatelyk, Director of the Department of Finance, over UAH 69 million will be allocated to support the defense forces. These funds will be allocated at the expense of the balances of the special fund development budget received from the alienation of property.

The decision is of a technical nature, but it allows for prompt allocation of funds in accordance with the city's current needs. After approval by the executive committee, the changes must be approved by the deputies at the next session of the city council.

As a reminder, the Executive Committee of Mykolaiv City Council has raised public transport fares - the new tariffs will come into effect in late April and early May.

The current fare for public electric transport is UAH 10 for a paper ticket and UAH 8 for a QR code.

In addition, tariffs for household waste removal are being raised for residents of Mykolaiv's Korabelnyi district. The new rates will take effect from May 1, 2026.

As Intent previously reported, a new trolleybus route No. 14 "Mykolaiv-Vantazhnyi - Kazarskoho Street" will soon appear in Mykolaiv.

In addition, Mykolaiv will receive 40 tramcars from the Swedish city of Gothenburg. These are M29 trams, which were previously used in the Swedish urban transportation system.
