After two unsuccessful attempts, Mykolaiv has once again announced a tender to repair the canteen at one of the city's gymnasiums. This is the third attempt to find a contractor.

This was reported by the Center for Public Investigations.

The procurement in the format of open bidding with special features was announced by the Department of Capital Construction of Mykolaiv City Council on October 18. It is a major overhaul of the canteen of Mykolaiv gymnasium No. 52.

As before, the customer is ready to pay UAH 23 million 369 thousand 653 for the work. For these funds, according to the project, the contractor is obliged to carry out repair work in the canteen, install a heating system, fire safety, ventilation, and lightning protection. In addition, he must equip the sewer system, asphalt the courtyard, and plant lawns.

The bidding process is open until November 2. The auction will take place on November 4. The winning bidder will have until January 31, 2025 to complete the work. Payment to the contractor will be made after acceptance of the work.

The first procurement was announced on September 11 with a repair cost of UAH 22 million 107 thousand 450. However, the tender was canceled on September 12. The reason given was "the impossibility of eliminating the identified violations of the legislation in the field of public procurement."

A second attempt to find a contractor to repair the canteen took place on October 17. At that time, the purchase price increased by UAH 1.2 million, but the bidding was canceled due to the lack of offers.

Earlier in Mykolaiv region, a major overhaul of the canteen at Vradiyivka Lyceum No. 2 was planned. The work was commissioned by the Education Department of the Vradiyivka Village Council. More than five million hryvnias were planned to be spent from the budget. The source of funding is the local budget and a subvention from the state budget.

In September, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved the allocation of subventions for the purchase of equipment and modernization of school canteens. In Mykolaiv, four educational institutions received funding. In Mykolaiv, four educational institutions received a subvention totaling about UAH 80 million. Mykolaiv gymnasium No. 52 received UAH 19 million 554 thousand 074 to repair the canteen. The gymnasium with 1609 students will receive the status of a hub kitchen.
