In Mykolaiv region, the number of closed individual entrepreneurs exceeded the number of newly established ones this year. As of October 1, 6363 entrepreneurs ceased operations in the region. At the same time, the number of newly registered sole proprietors amounted to 5882.

This is evidenced by analytical data from the Opendatabot resource.

In 2025, more than 225,000 sole proprietorships were opened in the country, which helped maintain a positive balance. In total, 15 thousand more entrepreneurs were opened than closed, with September being the most active month with 29.6 thousand new registrations. At the same time, the activity of closures also increased by 11% compared to last year, reaching over 213 thousand terminated sole proprietorships, of which over 45 thousand were registered this year alone.

The regional picture of business activity remains uneven. The top five regions in terms of the number of new registrations are Kyiv (30.5 thousand), Dnipro (22.2 thousand), Lviv (17.2 thousand), Kyiv (16.7 thousand), and Odesa (16.4 thousand). The highest number of entrepreneurs ceased operations in the capital (27.5 thousand), Dnipro (19.1 thousand), Kharkiv (17.7 thousand), and Odesa (16.1 thousand). Instead, a negative balance was recorded in the frontline Mykolaiv region: 5,882 new sole proprietors were registered here, while 6,363 ceased operations.

Trade traditionally remains the most common area for new registrations (retail - 29%, wholesale - 8%). IT, restaurant business, and information services are next in popularity. It is worth noting that closures most often occur in the same areas as the highest activity.

This year, women dominate among entrepreneurs, with 6 out of 10 new sole proprietorships opened, and their share reached a record 63% in Sumy region. Women are more likely to choose the service sector, education, medicine, and clothing production. Men focus mainly on logistics, construction, and equipment repair. In addition, foreigners are not standing aside: in 2025, 1648 non-resident sole proprietorships were opened in Ukraine, most of them among citizens of Azerbaijan, Russia, Uzbekistan, Moldova, and Armenia.
