An employee of an energy company who was performing emergency repair work was killed in Kherson as a result of a Russian drone attack.
This was reported by the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office.
According to the investigation, on June 10, at about 13:40, the Russian military attacked a street in the regional center with a drone. As a result of the explosive device, an employee of an energy company who was performing emergency repair work at the time was killed.
Later, the head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Prokudin, said that the deceased was a 39-year-old employee of one of the regional utility companies.
"The man was hit by a Russian UAV while performing his professional duties. This is yet another proof of the terrorist nature of the Russians, who are deliberately targeting civilian professionals who support the vital activities of communities," Prokudin said.
The head of the region also expressed his condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.
Under the procedural supervision of the Kherson District Prosecutor's Office, a pre-trial investigation into a war crime that resulted in the death of a person has been launched. The criminal proceeding was opened under Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
Prosecutors and police investigators are currently conducting the necessary investigative actions to document the circumstances of the attack and collect evidence of another war crime committed by the Russian military.
Recently, the Russian military attacked a hospital in Bilozirka, Kherson region, with artillery and FPV drones. The shelling injured two nurses and a staff member, and damaged the hospital building and residential buildings.
Earlier, a worker of a heating and power plant was killed in Kherson as a result of Russian shelling.
Also, the occupants attacked a taxi in the Dniprovsky district of Kherson. The attack on civilian transport occurred at noon, when passengers were in the bus.
