Head of Pivdenne Seaport Authority resigns from his post

Oleksandr Basyuk , head of the Southern Branch of the State Enterprise "Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority" in Odesa region, submitted a declaration before his dismissal.

The document was published by the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption.

In the declaration, Oleksandr Basyuk indicated that he uses a 130-square-meter apartment in Odesa owned by his son Vladyslav. This apartment is also used by his wife and second son Matviy. He and his wife also own a 572-square-meter house in the village of Velyka Balka. And since 2023, Oleksandr Basyuk's wife has been renting a 60-square-meter house in the UK.

Oleksandr Basyuk and his wife use a 2015 Volvo XC-60, which belongs to Valentyna Tomashevska.

The family's sources of income are:

Oleksandr Basyuk kept cash: 62 thousand US dollars, 120 thousand hryvnias, and 9.5 thousand British pounds. He keeps a total of 989.3 thousand hryvnias and 8 thousand 675 euros in banks. His wife keeps 370,700 hryvnias, 3,564 British pounds, and 50,000 hryvnias in cash.

In November 2020, the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority appointed a new head of the Pivdennyi Port Authority, Oleksandr Basyuk. Prior to becoming the head of Pivdennyi Port Authority, Mr. Basyuk had been working in the maritime industry since 2006. He held the positions of Deputy Head of the Legal Department of the Kherson Commercial Sea Port and Deputy Head of the Port for Legal and Contractual Affairs. Since 2012, he has held senior positions at the State Enterprise Specialized Sea Port "Oktyabrsk" (now Olvia). From 2016 to June 2019, he held various positions in the Department of Maritime and River Transport; from June 2019 to February 2020, he was Director General of the Directorate of Maritime and River Transport of the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine. Since February 3, 2020, he has been the Head of the Black Sea Branch of USPA.
