Odesa region is among the regions that will soon receive additional equipment to restore sustainable power supply.
According to the press service of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, following the second meeting of the headquarters for the elimination of the consequences of the emergency in the power system of Kyiv and Kyiv region with the participation of the Minister of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine Oleksiy Kuleba, the government made a number of decisions to support the regional power system.
In particular, Ukraine will receive from Italy about 80 units of industrial boilers with a capacity of 550 to 3 thousand kilowatts for a total of EUR 1.9 million. Part of this equipment will be used for the needs of Odesa region.
In turn, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on January 17 that the situation with the energy sector in Odesa should be resolved within a day.
On the night of January 17, the enemy delivered another cynical attack on the energy infrastructure of Odesa region. One of the facilities in the Odesa region was damaged and a fire broke out.
As a result of two waves of enemy attacks on the night of January 13, residential buildings and social facilities, including a hospital, a kindergarten and a school, were damaged in the central part of Odesa. Six residents are known to have been injured. The facades and glazing of six nearby apartment buildings and a kindergarten, as well as two garages and nine cars were damaged. Psychologists of the State Emergency Service provided assistance to 14 people, including one child.
Also, the Russian army attacked Odesa twice - on the evening of January 11 and on the night of January 12 - and as a result of these attacks, the city's infrastructure and two people were damaged. The attack in the evening resulted in injuries, and the earlier attack left part of the Peresypskyi district of the city without electricity.
