Germany provides funds to restore water supply in a village in Mykolaiv Oblast

In the Mykolaiv region, they decided to reconstruct the water supply system that was destroyed during the occupation. Germany provided three million for this purpose. In total, the project needs to raise more than one hundred million hryvnias.

This was reported by the Center for Public Investigations with reference to the Dream ecosystem.

A large-scale project to reconstruct the water supply system, which was damaged during the occupation and artillery shelling in 2022, has been planned in the village of Novopetrivka, Bashtanka district, Mykolaiv region.

The project is aimed at improving the living conditions of the population and providing them with centralized water supply. It includes drilling a new artesian well, replacing water towers, arranging fire tanks, building a pump room with a water treatment plant, and modernizing water supply networks.

The reconstruction includes the drilling of an artesian well, installation of pumping equipment, and installation of two new water towers with water storage tanks.

It also includes the replacement of more than 10 kilometers of asbestos-cement and steel pipes with plastic pipes, the installation of 316 manholes with metering units, the installation of 38 fire hydrants, and the creation of a modern water treatment system to provide residents with quality drinking water.

The total budget of the project is UAH 105.3 million, of which UAH 2.8 million was provided by Germany. The funding was provided as part of the U-LEAD with Europe: Ukraine - Decentralization Support Program, which supports the decentralization reform in Ukraine.

The project envisages not only providing quality water to the residents of Novopetrivka, but also creating conditions for the development of agricultural enterprises, which will stimulate economic growth in the community.

The reconstruction of the water supply system is in line with national, regional and local development strategies aimed at improving the quality of life and restoring the affected areas.

Also in Mykolaiv region, the local budget allocated about one million hryvnias out of the required nine to repair the lyceum shelter. The main goal of the project is to ensure a continuous educational process by creating safe conditions for learning under martial law.

At the same time, the arrangement of the Administrative Service Center (ASC) cost more than nine million hryvnias. The work is being carried out by a company that has special trust among Mykolaiv departments. The agreement with the contractor was extended for another year. The project envisages infrastructure modernization and the introduction of modern digital technologies.
