After the attack by Russian kamikaze drones on January 21, 2025, residents of Mykolaiv are actively restoring their damaged homes. So far, Mykolaiv residents have submitted eight applications under the eRestoration program and are waiting for compensation.

According to Ihor Nabatov, deputy director of the Department of Housing and Communal Services, owners of damaged housing can apply to district administrations for temporary accommodation in dormitories until repairs are completed or compensation is received.
According to the official, 52 apartment buildings and about ten private houses were damaged during the attack. Utilities and charitable organizations provided initial assistance by covering the windows with OSB boards and providing the necessary building materials. However, full restoration is only possible after a commission inspection and drawing up of reports, which is the basis for receiving compensation through eRestoration.
Olena Siryachenko, a resident of Mykolaiv, says that after the attack, she received mattresses, dishes and building materials from benefactors. Despite the help, she has to do a lot of work on her own. The main problem is the lack of gas supply, which is promised to be restored only after the roof is repaired and the ventilation ducts are checked.
Another local resident is also restoring his damaged home with his family. He received construction materials, but is forced to temporarily live with relatives, as the authorities have not offered alternative housing.
In the evening of January 21, the enemy attacked the city with drones. As a result, a six-story residential building was damaged, and 200 people were evacuated from the scene. The blast wave damaged the windows of apartments in eight apartment buildings, several private homes, a family outpatient clinic, and the administrative building of a transport company.
As a result of the attack, 94 subscribers were cut off from electricity, gas was cut off in 14 houses, and 21 houses were left without heating. Administrative buildings, a family outpatient clinic and a transportation company were damaged. Electric vehicles and new trolleybuses were heavily damaged.
Last year, the eRestoration program conducted 1, 436 inspections of facilities affected by Russian aggression. This made it possible to plan restoration work and provide assistance to affected residents in cooperation with international organizations.
