A former deputy from Crimea, who ran for the occupation Duma and glorified the Russian military, will be tried in Kherson region. He is charged with collaboration and justifying Russia's armed aggression.

This is stated in the suspicion of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine.

Enver Abduraimov, a native of Uzbekistan, who lives in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, voluntarily cooperated with the occupation authorities in the temporarily occupied territories of Kherson region. He took part in illegal elections to the occupation authorities and was elected as a deputy of the so-called Kherson Regional Duma from the party of the aggressor country - United Russia. After that, he was appointed deputy chairman of the committee on finance and budget of this occupation body.

From February to July 2024, Abduraimov actively carried out information activities in support of the aggressor state, using his own mobile devices and the Internet. He also participated in numerous events of the occupation authorities.

In particular, on February 27, 2024, in the village of Rivne, Genichesk district, he took part in an event in support of the pseudo-presidential elections in Russia. On March 17, he attended a political meeting in Genichesk to legitimize the occupation authorities. On July 23, he attended the opening of a memorial to the Russian military of the Voronezh Dnipro Battalion. On his telegram channel, Abduraimov posted a video message in which he glorified the actions of the military and called them heroes.

The investigation classified his actions under Part 6 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - collaboration, as well as Part 3 of Article 436-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - justification of armed aggression, denial of occupation and glorification of the armed forces of the aggressor country, committed with the use of the media.

According to media reports, from 2006 to 2012, he worked as an assistant to members of the Ukrainian Parliament. In 2009, he held the position of senior inspector of the Control and Audit Department in Crimea. After the annexation of the peninsula, he sided with Russia, and in 2015 he was suspected of treason, after which he was added to the search database of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.

In early July, the former chairman of the Supreme Council of Crimea was notified of suspicion of calling for war against Ukraine and propaganda of Russian aggression. He is charged with several articles, including collaboration and justification of the occupation, which provide for up to 12 years in prison. The former Minister of Education of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, who implemented Russian educational standards and participated in the liquidation of Ukrainian schools, will also be tried for treason.
