Energoatom's South Ukrainian NPP branch has announced a tender for the reconstruction of security systems. It is planned to spend more than 50 million hryvnias for this purpose.

The tender was published on April 14 in the Prozorro system, according to the Center for Public Investigations.

According to the tender documentation, it is about replacing a complete switchgear (6kV), which ensures the normal operation of the plant's facilities. This equipment is critical for the stable and safe operation of the nuclear power plant, as it is responsible for the uninterrupted power supply of important systems.

The expected cost of the project is UAH 50.16 million, and the work is scheduled to be completed by December 12, 2025.

Proposals from potential contractors will be accepted until April 30, and the auction is scheduled to take place the next day. The auction is declared "with peculiarities", which means a tight deadline and, presumably, no competition.

Earlier, the South Ukrainian NPP concluded a deal without a competitive procedure and with a firm with a dubious past. The deal was worth more than UAH 2 billion. In 2022, the company was accused of misappropriating budget funds for services for the South Ukrainian NPP.

It is not the first time that SouthUkrainian NPP has been involved in cases of misappropriation of budget funds, embezzlement and abuse of office. In November, the High Anti-Corruption Court scheduled a hearing on the misappropriation of UAH 12.3 million in the case of the nuclear power plant's executives.

In September, the Antimonopoly Committee uncovered collusion in a public tender and fined the bidders. The tender was for the purchase of network equipment for a nuclear power plant.

In June, the South Ukrainian Nuclear Power Plant concealed prices for materials and conducted the procurement without a specific procedure. Under the terms of the contract, the company must improve the fire safety of the plant's cable systems by December. The prices for imported materials were significantly higher.
