Eight earthquakes occurred in Romania near the border of Odesa region, mostly in the Vrancea zone, on October 22-25.

According to the Romanian National Institute for Research and Development in Earth Physics (INCDFP), the last two occurred on October 25 at night with a break of almost an hour.

The first earthquake occurred near the following cities: 43 kilometers west of Focsani, 57 kilometers north of Buzau, 70 kilometers east of Sfantu Gheorghe, 79 kilometers east of Brasov, 91 kilometers northeast of Ploiesti.

The second occurred near the following cities: 37 kilometers west of Focsani, 59 kilometers north of Buzau, 74 kilometers east of Sfantu Gheorghe, 85 kilometers east of Brasov, 96 kilometers northeast of Ploiesti, 97 kilometers southwest of Barlad.

On October 24 at 22:00 local time in Romania in the Vranca seismic zone, at a depth of 106 kilometers and was weak - magnitude 3.5. On October 23, at 6:08 a.m. local time in Romania, in the Vranca seismic zone, at a depth of 100.3 kilometers, with a magnitude of 2.6. On October 22, four earthquakes occurred at once: at 20:31 local time in Romania with a magnitude of 3, at 17:31 with a magnitude of 2.3, at 10:23 with a magnitude of 4.2, and the fourth at 00:38 with a magnitude of 2.3.

The Vrancea seismic zone is one of the most active and dangerous seismic zones in Europe. It is located in the Carpathian Mountains, in the east of Romania, mainly within the Vranca County, which gave this geological area its name. Vranca is capable of generating strong earthquakes with a magnitude of more than 7. Due to its great depth, tremors are often felt over large areas: in Romania itself, Moldova, Bulgaria, and Ukraine, particularly in the Odesa region.

Earlier, a series of earthquakes occurred in Romania near the border of Odesa region, mostly in the Vrancea zone, during the week of October 13-20. There were eight in total.
