A resident of Kherson region, who became the "director" of a medical college under the occupiers, was sentenced to 12 years in prison
This was reported by the press service of the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office.
The report says that under the procedural guidance of the Kherson Regional and Genichesk District Prosecutor's Offices, a resident of the region was found guilty of collaboration and aiding the aggressor state (Part 3 of Article 111-1, Part 1 of Article 111-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). She was sentenced to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property. She was also deprived of the right to hold positions in state authorities, public administration, local self-government or bodies providing public services for a period of 15 years.
The court proved that in August 2022, the woman collaborated with the enemy and took the position of the so-called "director" of the Genichesk Medical College, which was seized by representatives of the aggressor country. The protege of the occupation authorities began to implement Russian educational standards. She conducted an inventory of the college's property and recruited new teachers. On her instructions, Russian attributes were placed in the educational institution, and subjects were taught only in Russian.
The special pre-trial investigation was conducted by the Security Service of Ukraine in Kherson region.
Earlier it was reported that the so-called "head" and "heads" of the occupation healthcare institution's departments would be tried. The investigation found that in 2022, the defendants cooperated with the occupation authorities and took positions in the illegally created Kherson Regional Center for Hygiene and Epidemiology.
It was also reported that the SBU served three other residents of Kherson region, one of whom is a village council member, with a notice of suspicion of collaboration with the occupiers.
