Daily Shelling in Antonivka Leaves Bodies Unretrievable Amid Chaos

In the frontline Antonivka starosta district near Kherson, due to daily shelling and drone attacks by Russians, it is not possible to take the bodies of the dead in time. They may remain in the combat zone for several days due to the constant danger.

This was reported by Serhiy Ivashchenko, the head of the Antonivka starosta district, to Vgoru.

"They are going to take the wounded and hit 'petal mines'. If a car stops, it is killed. This is the reality," the official explained.

About 900 residents remain in the district itself: about 500 in the Eastern district, 300 in Kindiyka and 100 in Antonivka. The most dangerous area is the coastal zone, which is conditionally divided by Chornovil highway. It is there that the enemy systematically hits with artillery, drones and multiple rocket launchers.

According to Ivashchenko, despite the constant threat, not everyone agrees to evacuate. Mostly elderly people remain who do not want to leave the homes they have lived in all their lives. Some of them have relatives in safer regions, but do not dare to move.

The evacuation is carried out by volunteers who risk their own lives. People are evacuated only on days when weather conditions - fog, wind or rain - complicate the work of enemy drones and reduce the risk of shelling.

The official also noted that the communal infrastructure in the district is practically destroyed. There is no electricity, water or gas supply in Kindiytsia and Antonivka. The situation in the Eastern district is slightly better - water and gas are still available, but the networks are constantly damaged by shelling. Even the delivery of construction materials is almost impossible.

"We can't even bring in building materials - we need a big truck, and it is too slow for the conditions under constant shelling," said the starosta.

The only road to Antonivsky district is controlled by enemy drones, which further complicates evacuation and delivery of aid. Even during the so-called ceasefire, the shelling did not stop - the enemy resumed attacks almost immediately.

According to Ivashchenko, the wounded are recorded in the community almost every day, and the dead appear almost every other day. There are also missing persons.

Intent has already written that the Russian occupation army shelled 36 settlements in the Kherson region on April 21-22, and also launched a missile attack on the Beryslav district.
