(Participants. COLLAGE: Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office)

A case against an organized group of four people who tried to misappropriate land plots of more than 300 hectares worth more than UAH 17 million has been brought to court in Kherson region.

This was reported by the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office.

The criminals developed a scheme whereby in 2024, using forged documents, they registered ownership of five land plots in the names of fictitious persons. Subsequently, through notarized statements, they divided each of the plots into two, creating ten new ones with separate cadastral numbers. They are accused of fraud committed on a particularly large scale, using forged documents, and attempted legalization of the proceeds of crime. These actions are classified under several articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, in particular: Part 5 of Article 190, Part 2 of Article 15, Part 2 of Article 209, Part 5 of Article 27, Part 1 of Article 358, Part 3 of Article 28, Part 4 of Article 358.

However, the criminals did not have time to implement their plan and sell the land, as they were exposed by law enforcement. Thanks to a court decision, all the illegally registered plots were returned to the ownership of the Tyahyn territorial community. The pre-trial investigation was conducted by investigators of the Main Department of the National Police in Kherson region.
