Company seized by Odesa resident last year is suspected of tax evasion

Last year, the Bureau of Economic Security initiated proceedings against the Stolychna Jewelry Factory Limited Liability Company on suspicion of tax evasion totaling more than UAH 165 million.

According to the YouControl service, the company has been owned since January 2024 by Lyudmyla Morozova, a resident of Chornomorsk, Odesa region, and before that it was legally owned by businessman Dmytro Hradoblianskyi.

The Bureau of Economic Security, according to the case file, believes that the actual owner of the LLC conspired with the owners of two other companies and individual entrepreneurs to deliberately avoid paying taxes in 2021-2025.

In particular, the BES believes that the companies imported jewelry from Italy, China and Thailand, significantly understating their value in tax invoices.

According to the investigation, SUF LLC has its own production facilities and the company's leading specialists strictly control the process of jewelry creation at every stage of production, from creating a sketch to placing products in shiny showcases, and currently employs more than 1,000 people.

The network of Stolichnaya Jewelry Factory branded stores includes about 175 boutiques, jewelry islands and jewelry corner stores across the country. Also, jewelry from the Italian brand Francelli in Ukraine is exclusively represented in the boutiques and online store of the Capital Jewelry Factory.

On July 8, the Shevchenkivskyi District Court of Kyiv seized the property of three limited liability companies and individual entrepreneurs who sell goods under the Stolychna Jewelry Factory trademark at the request of the prosecutor.

When imposing the seizure, the investigating judge also took into account the fact that in this case the restriction of property rights is reasonable and proportionate to the objectives of the criminal proceedings. At the same time, the investigating judge found no evidence of negative consequences from the application of such a measure to ensure criminal proceedings.
