Actor, comedian, longtime participant of the Mask Show, and musician Volodymyr Komarov died on March 29, and on April 1, Odesa said goodbye to him.
TheAccent recalled some of his biography and who he was for the city. They also talked about the scandal that broke out on the day of his death.
It is about the fact that the administration of the Odesa National University named after I. I. Mechnikov officially announced the beginning of an official investigation against the teacher Oleksandr Muzychko. The reason was his systematic public statements in social networks and the media space, which caused a significant public outcry.
Oleksandr Muzychko said that, in his opinion, the public reaction to the death of actor Volodymyr Komarov shows that the war is not about cultural independence from Russian influence. He also expressed his belief that a part of Ukrainian society allegedly seeks to preserve the old order and is guided by the Russian cultural tradition, which, in his opinion, poses a threat to Ukrainians. However, the post has now been removed.
Volodymyr Komarov was born on February 29, 1964, in Kirovohrad Oblast, but his family soon moved to Odesa. At school, he started practicing pantomime. After graduating from high school #18, he entered the Odesa Institute of Food Industry where he studied for one semester. For the next three years he served as a sailor in the Northern Fleet.
From 1985 to 1987, he worked as an actor in the Masks pantomime and clown ensemble at the Odesa Regional Philharmonic. From 1987 to 1989, he was an actor at the Kyiv Variety Theater "Sharge". In 1989, he returned to the Masks, starred in TV series, feature films, and performed on stage until 2002. At the end of 2002, Vladimir Komarov finally left the Masks comedy troupe and created the comedy duo Odekolon together with Alexey Agopyan.
In 2005, he founded the musical group Dr. BrMental, in which he is still the lead singer. Since 2018, he has performed with Boris Barsky as an actor in the play Mozart and Salieri.
