Two residents of the Kherson region are accused of collaboration for cooperating with the occupiers.

The Kherson Regional and Skadovsk District Prosecutor's Offices sent to court the case of a local resident who voluntarily cooperated with the occupation authorities in August 2022. She took the position of "chief accountant" in the illegally created Department of Labor and Social Policy. The woman was responsible for accounting, supervising her subordinates, preparing reports and signing financial documents.

Another resident of the region, a 28-year-old man, is suspected in absentia of collaborating with the occupation authorities. In 2023, he became the "deputy head of the Nizhneseerogoge municipal district" and coordinated activities in the areas of agriculture, architecture, utilities, transport and communications.

Both face five to ten years in prison with possible disqualification to hold office for up to 15 years and confiscation of property.

Meanwhile, two occupiers' accomplices who held senior positions will be tried in Kherson region. In 2022, two local women voluntarily cooperated with the Russian invaders. One of them was promoted to the position of "head of the social policy department," and the other headed the "media and public relations department."

A case against a former tax service employee who made her career under the Russian invaders was brought to court. The woman is accused of treason and faces life imprisonment.

Recently, the court announced the verdict against Olga Volyk, the illegal head of a social service center in Kakhovka, Kherson region. The director was sentenced to 11 years in prison. From June 2022 to January 2024, Olga Volik headed the illegally created territorial social service center in Kakhovka, where she was in charge of personnel and administrative work. The woman was thanked by the occupation authorities for her "conscientious work and active civic position".
