The Specialized Defense Prosecutor's Office of the Southern Region has sent to court an indictment against an employee of the Peresypsk District Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support in Odesa, who is charged with intentionally inflicting light bodily harm on a serviceman.

This was reported by the press service of the prosecutor's office.

Investigators found that in December 2025, while conducting public awareness activities and checking military records, the serviceman unreasonably entered into a conflict with a man in the courtyard of a residential building in Odesa.

Then, exceeding his official authority, he used physical force and punched the man. The victim was a serviceman of the 36th Separate Marine Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, a defender of Mariupol, who had been released from enemy captivity shortly before the incident and was undergoing rehabilitation.

According to a forensic medical examination, as a result of the accused's illegal actions, the serviceman sustained light bodily injuries in the form of abrasions, bruises and hematomas.

The information about the beating of the serviceman was made public by the NGO "Protection of the State. Odesa" in early December. According to their information, on December 4, a group of nine people who introduced themselves as employees of the Peresypsk District Military Commissariat stopped a marine on Semen Paliy Street. Despite the documents he presented: a military ID, medical certificates and a combatant's certificate, Roman Pokidko was pushed into the TCC's car. Tear gas was used against him and he was beaten. After that, according to the NGO, the soldier was thrown out of the car while it was moving.
