Prosecutors of the Odesa Regional Prosecutor's Office have sent to court an indictment against the head and six employees of the emergency medical care substation of the Odesa Regional Center for Emergency Medical Care and Disaster Medicine.

According to the press service of the Odesa Regional Prosecutor's Office, they are charged with entering false information into official documents and misappropriation of budget funds on a large scale.

Investigators insist that they have established how the head of one of the emergency medical care substations developed a criminal scheme to seize budget funds allocated for the payment of salaries to employees of the medical institution. The official involved his subordinates - senior paramedic, paramedics and doctors - in the business plan.

Thus, the defendants systematically entered false information into the time sheets, indicating that the medical workers had performed their duties, although they did not show up for work at all. The salaries accrued to them were then distributed among the scheme participants.

In this way, from November 2019 to February 2024, the criminals seized budget funds worth more than UAH 4.2 million.

Earlier, prosecutors of the Odesa Regional Prosecutor's Office sent to court an indictment against two women on the fact of high treason committed under martial law by a group of persons by prior conspiracy.

Detectives of the Main Detective Unit of the Bureau of Economic Security of Ukraine completed a pre-trial investigation against officials of the Odesa customs posts and the head of an exporting company in a case of tax evasion on a large scale.

Meanwhile, the State Bureau of Investigation completed a pre-trial investigation in Odesa region against an entrepreneur involved in a scheme to extort grain corridor exporters. In early April 2024, SBI officers detained an entrepreneur and two officials of the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection in Odesa and Zaporizhzhia regions who organized a corruption scheme to extort money for issuing phytosanitary certificates and other documents for barley and corn exports.
