A lot of work has already been done at the cemetery: thuja trees have been planted for landscaping, curbs have been installed, alleys between the graves have been tiled, shrubs have been cleared and the area has been cleaned.

Currently, the monument is being actively assembled: the main elements of the monument are being lifted and installed with cranes, and workers are making efforts to accurately place all parts. Meanwhile, the city of Yuzhnoukrainsk, Mykolaiv region, is considering the possibility of allocating more than 20 hectares for the creation of a new . Currently, a detailed plan of the territory of the land plot where the cemetery is planned to be located is to be developed. The total area is 20,335 hectares. The work will be commissioned by the executive committee of the Yuzhnoukrainsk City Council.

Mykolaiv is also looking for a contractor to manufacture and install tombstones for fallen soldiers who gave their lives for Ukraine.

Mykolaiv Funeral Service has already announced a tender for the installation of 160 tombstones for Ukrainian defenders. Back then, it was planned to allocate UAH 6.2 million from the local budget. The winner was a sole proprietor who agreed to perform the work for UAH 2.9 million. Recently, a new tender has appeared on the e-procurement website, and its amount is UAH 4 million 580 thousand. The process of submitting proposals will last until September 19, and the next day an auction in the format of open bidding with special features is scheduled.

Earlier, the Mykolaiv City Council received numerous complaints from citizens who lost their loved ones in the war that they could not install the monuments themselves and were waiting for the municipalities to do so. But this is not happening.
