A local resident who received a mandate as a "deputy of the Kherson Regional Duma" from a Russian party will be tried.
This was reported by the press service of the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office.
The post says that under the procedural guidance of the Kherson District Prosecutor's Office, an indictment against a resident of Henichesk on the fact of collaboration (Part 5 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) was sent to court.
The investigation established that in 2023, the accused took part in illegal elections to the so-called "Kherson Regional Duma of the first convocation" from the political party "Communist Party of the Russian Federation". Having received a mandate based on the results of the "elections," she is actively involved in the activities of this illegal body. In addition, she works with the local population to create a positive image of the occupiers and discredit the official Ukrainian authorities.
The special pre-trial investigation was conducted by the SBU Office in Kherson region.
Earlier, a resident of the region was served a notice of suspicion for heading an occupation health care facility and transferring property to the illegal administration of Kherson region. According to the investigation, in September 2022, the 42-year-old suspect agreed to cooperate with the occupiers and took the position of the so-called "acting chief physician of the Kherson Regional Center for Hygiene and Epidemiology". Using his official position and following the order of the illegal "head of the Department of Health", the man handed over a specialized ambulance to representatives of the occupation administration.
A resident of the region is also suspected of taking a position in the illegal "Department of Industry and Trade" and forcing Kherson enterprises to re-register with the occupation "tax office".
