Mykolaiv is planning to launch a new city bus route connecting the Shyroka Balka neighborhood with the Mykolaiv-Freight station. This is expected to help improve transport links and make getting around the city more convenient for city residents during martial law.

This is evidenced by a draft decision of the executive committee of the Mykolaiv City Council.

Mykolaiv amended the decision to approve the network of city bus routes in the city. A new direction was added to the list of routes - Shyroka Balka neighborhood - Mykolaiv-Vantazhny station.

The new route will run through Oranzereina, Prybuzka streets, Bohoyavlensky Avenue, Pogranichna Street and Pryvokzalna Square. Its length will be 11.3 kilometers.

The decision states that buses will operate in the "normal traffic" mode. The city council explained that the changes were made to ensure uninterrupted and comfortable passenger transportation, as well as to meet the needs of residents for transportation services under martial law.

In addition, a new trolleybus route No. 14 was launched in Mykolaiv on April 28, connecting Kazarskoho Street with the old railway station. The route will pass through key transport arteries, including Pryvokzalna Square, Arkasivska Street, Tsentralnyi Avenue, Kherson Highway, as well as Krugova, Troitska, Elektronna, O. Yanata, and Kazarskoho Streets.

In addition, in Mykolaiv, new low-floor buses have already been brought to the final stage of preparation before launch - the city has actually received modern transport to update its routes. We are talking about 26 new buses that were transferred to the municipal ownership of the city's territorial community as part of a contract for the supply of buses worth up to 4.5 million euros. They have 25 seats, meet the Euro-5 environmental standard and are designed to operate on city routes.
