A fire that started after Russian military exercises is localized in Crimea

The occupation department of the Ministry of Emergencies in Crimea reported that they extinguished a forest fire near Mount Agarmysh.

"A Mi-8 helicopter of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations with a water sprinkler mechanism is involved in extinguishing the fire. Today 30 tons of water were dumped. 160 specialists and 34 units of equipment are working at the site," the occupation emergency service said in a statement.

At the same time, Krym.Realii notes that the day before, local publics reported that the forest fire near Mount Agarmysh began after Russian military exercises at the nearby Old Crimean training ground.

The Old Crimean training ground with an ammunition depot near Mount Agarmysh near Staryi Krym covers an area of about 1.5 square kilometers. During the Soviet era, exercises were held here, but this range was not as important as other military facilities in Crimea.

The media also wrote that last year, local residents reported a series of explosions near the Starokrymsky training ground. It was alleged that the fire at the ammunition depot was caused by a series of air strikes.

Earlier, the guerrillas showed how Russia is strengthening the defense of the Crimean bridge, fearing possible attacks from the Ukrainian armed forces in southern Ukraine. In this regard, the Russian military received an order to quickly reinforce the bridge that connects the occupied peninsula with the Russian mainland. Before that, the Russians were seen moving air defense systems from Crimea closer to the Crimean bridge, but on the territory of the Russian Federation. According to the guerrillas, this indicates that Russia's defense system is facing serious problems related to the insecurity of certain areas, such as the Kursk region.
