The National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption (NAPC) discovered a tax debt of one of the deputies of the Odesa Regional Council during a full audit of his financial condition.

According to the NACP, the analysis of his financial condition revealed discrepancies between his expenses and income.

"The MP explained that in 2014 he failed to file tax returns on income received for the supply of agricultural products. According to him, the income was subsequently converted into foreign currency, but the proper documents to confirm the transactions were not preserved," the agency said.

During the audit, the declarant voluntarily filed a tax return for the relevant period and paid UAH 612 thousand of personal income tax (PIT) and UAH 54 thousand of military duty.

Earlier, the head of one of the departments of the State Migration Service in Odesa region, Andrii Morara , who is suspected of concealing a large amount of property in his 2023 declaration, was dismissed from his post. In the electronic declaration, the official "forgot" to mention a 200-square-meter house, land of more than 600 square meters, a Mercedes-Benz G400D car, more than UAH 11 million in cash, and a number of other valuable assets.

Before that, the NACP exposed an officer of the recruitment and staffing department of the Odesa Regional TCC and JV for false declaration of property and assets worth more than UAH 3.8 million.

Also, inconsistencies totaling UAH 23 million were found in the declaration of Oleksandra Smyrna, a former employee of the Odesa Regional State Administration. The woman faces criminal liability, and she has already resigned and moved abroad.
