E-cigarettes have become a popular alternative to regular smoking, especially among young people. They are advertised as a less harmful option, but is it really so?

What is more harmful: e-cigarettes or regular cigarettes?

Traditional cigarettes contain more than seven thousand chemicals, many of which are carcinogens. E-cigarettes do not contain tobacco in the usual form, but vapes also have dangerous compounds, including nicotine, formaldehyde, acetaldehyde, and other toxins. Although studies show that e-cigarettes may be less harmful, this does not mean that they are safe. It is especially dangerous to use them regularly.

The degree of harm depends on the frequency of use, type of device, liquid content, as well as the age and health of the user. The WHO does not recommend e-cigarettes as a smoking cessation tool and emphasizes that the effects on the body have not yet been fully studied, and the long-term consequences can be serious.

Getting rid of e-cigarette addiction is just as difficult as regular smoking. Here are some tips:

E-cigarettes are not a safe alternative. They have harmful effects on the body and are addictive. The best solution for health is not to smoke at all.
