Volunteer from Crimea who brainwashes teenagers faces up to 12 years in prison

The Security Service of Ukraine has identified a so-called volunteer from the temporarily occupied Crimea , Danylo Danylchenko. The man is actively assisting the occupation authorities in "re-educating" Crimean youth and promoting pro-Russian propaganda. He is charged with cooperation with the aggressor state.

According to the Center for Public Investigations, Danylchenko was notified of the suspicion on the website of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine.

The investigating judge of the Dniprovskyi District Court of Kyiv, by a ruling of May 29, 2025, granted permission to conduct a special pre-trial investigation against Danylchenko. He is suspected of committing a criminal offense under Part 1 of Article 111-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - cooperation with the aggressor state. This is punishable by imprisonment for up to 12 years.

Intent analyzed the volunteer 's activities and learned that he regularly speaks on Russian media platforms, where he talks about "educating" young people in the spirit of "historical truth" and "memory of victory."

He has publicly stated that Russian youth should remember the "deeds of their grandfathers" and wear St. George ribbons, hold street actions and quests that glorify the Soviet victory in World War II. Danylchenko also actively broadcasts messages about the loss of historical landmarks in Ukraine, promoting the aggressor country's narratives of distortion of history and national identity.

In his speeches, he has repeatedly criticized Ukraine for the loss of "historical memory" and called for the strengthening of pro-Russian values among the younger generation.

A trial is also being prepared against the editor-in-chief of the occupation TV and radio company "Crimea", who openly supported Russian aggression and justified the temporary occupation of the peninsula. The case against her has been submitted to the court.
