"Ukrzaliznytsia" has scheduled an additional regional train between Odesa and Karolino-Bugaz, which will begin operating on June 28.
According to the company’s press office, the train will run during the summer season on the Odesa–Karolino-Bugaz route.
"For the comfort of passengers, a modernized electric train equipped with air conditioning will operate on the route. The trip will take one hour. It’s the perfect way to avoid traffic jams and start your weekend on the coast," Ukrzaliznytsia noted.
Meanwhile, the Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi District Military Administration previously reported that the beaches located within the district are not included in the list of officially open beaches; Karolino-Bugaz, Zatoka, and Serhiivka are all part of this district.
It should be noted that the absence of an official beach opening usually means there are no medical or lifeguard stations there—unlike, for example, on the beaches in Odesa, where, as a result of a drone attack on the afternoon of June 23,a 26-year-old woman was killed on one of the city’s beaches. A 39-year-old man was also injured. Subsequently, city officials stated that the beach is not officially included in the listof places where recreation is permitted. Law enforcement agencies have opened a criminal investigation into the tragedy.
The partner of Daria Kravchenko, a Kyiv resident who was killed in the Russian strike on the Odessa beach, stated his intention toseek punishment for all those involved in the tragedy. Ivan Noskov explained that althoughthe beach was officially closed, it was, in fact, open for business: a bar was operating, and beach chairs and loungers were being rented out to vacationers. At the same time, he said, there were neither lifeguards nor medical personnel on the premises. The city administration has promised to provide financial assistance to the victim’s family.
It should also be noted that in 2024, Intent had already pointed out that in Zatoka, Serhiivka, and Karolino-Buhaz—whose beaches have always been nearly as popular as those in Odessa—vacation resorts were resuming operations and tourists were flocking there. However, according to estimates by business owners at the time, the resorts were only 25–30% full.
