Ukrainian defenders repel 10 enemy assaults in Kherson region over a week

Ukrainian defenders are holding strong in the Kherson region. Despite the pressure from the occupiers, the Defense Forces are not allowing the enemy to advance, consistently repelling attacks and maintaining control over their positions.

Pavlo Drohal, spokesman for the 30th Marine Corps of the Ukrainian Navy, spoke about the situation in the Kherson sector. Between December 15 and 21 alone, Russian troops fired 662 times at Ukrainian positions and civilian infrastructure. In addition to massive artillery attacks, the enemy also launched two air strikes during the week in an attempt to shake our defense.

The invaders are particularly focused on the left bank of the Dnipro River, where they are determined to push Ukrainian units out of their positions. However, all these attempts have been unsuccessful. According to the spokesperson, the enemy launched 10 assault attacks during the week, and all of them were successfully repelled by our military.

Along with the defense work, the Defense Forces continue to inflict significant losses in manpower and equipment on the invaders. Between December 15 and 21, the Russian army's losses in this area amounted to 181 occupants killed and wounded. In addition, Ukrainian defenders managed to destroy 149 units of enemy weapons and military equipment, which significantly weakens the offensive potential of the occupiers in the region.

As a reminder, on November 8, 2025, the Ukrainian military repelled the occupiers' assault on Velykyi Vilkhovyi Island in the Kherson region, Prydniprovskyi direction.

During the day, 31 combat engagements took place in the South. As of the morning (08:00 on November 9), 25 assaults on the positions of the Defense Forces and 6 combat engagements were recorded. The enemy continued to intensively fire at Ukrainian positions, making more than 450 attacks and using almost 2,000 rounds of ammunition. In addition, about twenty settlements near the front line came under enemy fire.
