The Security Service of Ukraine exposed a resident of the temporarily occupied part of the Kherson region who actively cooperated with Russian invaders. Now he faces life in prison.
According to the SBU Office in Kherson region, in 2022 he took the position of the so-called "head of the military-civilian administration" of Hornostai district, where he performed the functions of the illegal occupation authorities.
According to the investigation, he created artificial conditions to support the invaders, forced entrepreneurs and residents to obey the occupation regime, and controlled the work of public utilities. However, his criminal activities were not limited to administrative functions. The SBU found that he passed the coordinates of Ukrainian military positions and civilian objects to the Russians. The occupiers used the data to launch missile attacks on civilian infrastructure and the deployment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Based on the evidence collected, the SBU served the suspect a notice of suspicion of high treason and collaboration. He faces life imprisonment.
The SBU also exposed the activities of Oleksandra Pshenychna in the occupied territory of Kherson region. The woman used to be the head of the village of Zaozerne, and after the occupation she collaborated with the enemy and ran an illegal administration.
In addition, the head of Radensk and Chelburda villages Oleksandr Filenko was served a notice of suspicion .
Earlier, the Security Service of Ukraine served suspicion notices in absence to two residents of Kherson who collaborated with the Russian invaders during the occupation of the city. One of them is a former manager atKhersongaz JSC. Also, Olena Chepinoga, a 67-year-old resident of the resort town of Skadovsk in the Kherson region, who voluntarily headed the culture department of the occupation administration and supports the Russian invaders, was suspected of collaboration.
