The Deputy Minister of Health in the occupation government of Crimea was sentenced in absentia to eight years in prison in Ukraine for collaboration.

This was reported by Krym.Realii with reference to the press service of the Prosecutor's Office of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.

The prosecutor's office did not name the convict, but according to information from open sources, it is most likely Oleksiy Yakovenko. It is reported that in April 2022, the convict was appointed to the position of 'Deputy Minister of Health of the Republic of Crimea'. He is still working in this position, ensuring the work of the 'ministry' and monitoring the implementation of decisions of the occupation authorities.

ARC Prosecutor Igor Ponochovny said that more than 3,800 criminal proceedings have been opened in Ukraine regarding war crimes and crimes against national security committed by Russians in Crimea. So far, Ukrainian courts have handed down about 200 verdicts in these cases, and another 580 are being heard.

Russian authorities declared Dmitry Myskov a spy and sentenced him to 14 years in prison. The sentence handed down by the judges is based on Article 275 of the Russian Criminal Code ("High Treason"). The basis for the prosecution was the allegation that the defendant was recruited by the SBU last year, joined a Telegram channel coordinating anti-Russian activities, and from July to September 2024 sent intelligence to Ukrainian special services for a monetary reward.

The prosecutors' allegations have not yet received any comments from the Ukrainian special services or representatives of the Armed Forces. In the context of military operations, there is no way to verify the veracity of the charges. According to the court verdict, after serving 14 years in a maximum security colony, Myskov will face another year of restricted liberty. In addition, the alleged spy must pay a fine of 200 thousand rubles.
