UAH 27M Heating Network Overhaul Launched in Pivdenoukrainsk, Mykolaiv Region

A UAH 27 million project to overhaul heating networks in Pivdenoukrainsk has been launched in Mykolaiv region. The project involves replacing pipes, modernizing heat chambers, and implementing a remote control system.

This was reported by the Center for Public Investigations with reference to the DREAM ecosystem.

A large-scale project to overhaul heating networks on Nezalezhnosti Avenue has been launched in Pivdenoukrainsk, Mykolaiv region. The main goal is to reduce heat loss, extend the life of the heating system and increase its reliability.

According to the terms of reference, the project involves replacing old sections of the pipeline, increasing the diameter of pipes, installing modern shut-off valves with gearboxes, overhauling heat chambers and arranging drainage wells near them. In addition, it is planned to introduce a system for remote control and monitoring of the heating networks.

The total budget of the project is UAH 27.1 million, of which more than UAH 22.2 million are capital expenditures and almost UAH 5 million are operating costs. In particular, UAH 766 thousand is allocated for design, and more than UAH 350 thousand for technical and author's supervision. Most of the funds are for construction, which will last until the end of 2024.

The project is funded from the local budget. As of now, sources for UAH 15.8 million have been confirmed, which covers about 58% of the total cost. In 2024, 750 thousand hryvnias have already been allocated from the city budget, and another 15.1 million hryvnias are to be received in 2025.

The project is being implemented by the Heat Supply and Water Sewerage Utility. Mykolaivoblproekt LLC developed the design and estimate documentation.

According to the project description, the modernization of heating networks in Pivdenoukrainsk is in line with the government's strategic documents on energy modernization of utilities until 2030.

Mykolaiv also presented a boiler house modernization project, under which it is planned to install a gas cogeneration unit to improve the heat supply system. More than UAH 4 million of the planned UAH 18 million have already been allocated from the local budget. In addition, energy efficiency is planned to be improved in the Namyv neighborhood. They want to install individual heating points in high-rise buildings, which will allow residents to regulate the heat supply and reduce heating costs.
