Tigipko's party is still without a list for the elections, but with majoritarian candidates

Serhiy Tihipko's party "Strong Ukraine" has approved candidates for parliamentary elections in single-member constituencies - the so-called "majoritarian" candidates .

On Friday, the delegates postponed the formation of the electoral list for the early parliamentary elections until September 15, when the second stage of the 2nd congress will be held.

"Strong Ukraine" decided to nominate candidates in 132 single-member constituencies, Ukrainian News reports.

Tigipko said at a briefing that, according to his data, the chances of the party to enter the parliament are quite good.

When asked about the representation of members of the Party of Regions and other political parties on the list, Tigipko said that "Strong Ukraine" is ready to accept members of any party, and their possible inclusion in the list will depend on the individual, not on their political affiliation.

Tihipko also said that if the party is elected to parliament, it will most likely go into opposition to the current government, but he did not rule out the possibility of Strong Ukraine joining the parliamentary majority.

Activists of the Chesno movement picketed the congress of the Strong Ukraine party, demanding that the party not nominate or support MPs who voted for the "dictatorial laws" of January 16 and candidates involved in corruption investigations.

The activists emphasized that Tigipko himself voted for the "laws of January 16" and did not withdraw his vote.

Among the delegates of the congress was also a non-factional member of the Verkhovna Rada, Andriy Pinchuk, nominated by the Party of Regions, who confirmed that he had voted positively for the "dictatorial" laws.

The Chesno movement conducts a "public raid" on party congresses to personally convey to the delegates and party leadership the public's demands to the candidates for MPs:

- not to include in the lists and not to support in single-mandate districts the MPs who voted for the "dictatorial laws" of January 16, and candidates who are involved in corruption investigations;

- publish full autobiographies of candidates and their property declarations for 2013;

- publish the party's financial report for 2013;

- publish a detailed interim financial report on the receipt and use of the election fund 5 days before the elections.
