During a meeting of the High Anti-Corruption Court, Yulia Tymoshenko said that the MP whose conversation with her was made public by investigators was a representative of Mykolaiv region, Ihor Kopytin. According to her, he had repeatedly tried to establish contact with her.

This was discussed during the HACC trial.

According to the parties, the published recordings contain amounts that MPs were supposed to receive for voting against the decisions of the current government.

Yulia Tymoshenko claimed that Kopytin personally came to her and assured her that he opposed President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's policy, offering joint actions.

She also stated that criminal proceedings were allegedly opened against the MP, and called his involvement in this situation a provocation against the leader of the Batkivshchyna faction.

According to Tymoshenko, the MP acted in his own interests, trying to avoid criminal liability by handing over the materials to the NABU or creating conditions for their formation, which, in her opinion, do not correspond to reality.

At the same time, she did not rule out that the conversations quoted by the prosecutor in court could have taken place with the MP, but emphasized that they did not discuss the issue of finances.

According to the investigation, the contact between the defendants in the case took place on January 12, 2026.

The High Anti-Corruption Court, for its part, banned Tymoshenko, the head of the Batkivshchyna faction, from communicating with 65 MPs from the Servant of the People party. This list includes three representatives of Mykolaiv region - Artem Chornomorov, Oleksandr Pasichnyi and Ihor Kopytin.

According to the NABU, the head of the faction is suspected of offering a bribe to a group of MPs from other political forces in exchange for supporting or blocking certain bills. It was about possible agreements on the transition or informal cooperation of MPs with the Batkivshchyna faction for a monetary reward.

The HACC chose a measure of restraint for MP and party leader Yulia Tymoshenko, setting bail at UAH 33 million 280 thousand.
