Detectives of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine have served a notice of suspicion of declaring false information to Hryhoriy Didenko, chairman of the Odesa Regional Council, and his wife, MP Yulia Didenko.

This was reported by the NABU press service.

According to the investigation, the official and the MP failed to declare property worth more than UAH 8 million in their annual property declarations for 2021-2023.

In addition, according to the NABU, the SAPO prosecutor filed a lawsuit to recognize the couple's assets worth almost UAH 5 million as unjustified and recover them in favor of the state.

Investigators found that the head of the regional council and his wife, an MP, acquired property worth almost UAH 5 million in 2021-2024 without confirmed sources of income. The assets include payments for apartments and two Audi SQ8 cars (2021 and 2024).

In September, the High Anti-Corruption Court of Ukraine granted the application of the prosecutor of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office and seized an apartment and non-residential premises owned by MP Yulia Didenko.

According to SAPO estimates, MP Yulia Didenko and her relatives did not have enough money to purchase these assets, except in part.

In connection with the alienation of cars in favor of third parties, part of the value of which may be recovered as unreasonable, as well as the impossibility of seizing the funds that were contributed under the contract of sale of property rights, the Plaintiff points out the need to secure the claim by seizing other property that is not the subject of the dispute, however,

That is why the prosecutor requested the seizure of a 32.2 square meter apartment in Kyiv and a 39.9 square meter non-residential property of Yulia Didenko herself in Truskavets, Lviv region, to secure the lawsuit.
