Three Kherson residents made a career with the occupiers

Three residents of Kherson, who headed the units of the regional center of hygiene and epidemiology under the occupiers, are in the dock.

This was reported by the press service of the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office.

The statement reads that under the procedural guidance of the Kherson Regional and Skadovsk District Prosecutor's Offices, indictments against three local residents on the fact of collaboration (Part 5 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) were sent to court.

The investigation established that in 2022, the accused cooperated with the occupation authorities and took positions in the seized Kherson Regional Center for Disease Control and Prevention, renamed the Kherson Regional Center for Hygiene and Epidemiology.

It is noted that one of the defendants became the so-called "deputy chief physician for administrative and economic affairs" and his wife became the "head of the personnel department". Another defendant became the "head of the structural unit of the Bilozersky district department of the Kherson city department" of the same organization. In his pseudo-position, the man managed the economic activities of the institution, controlled the expenditure of materials and money, etc.

Both women in their positions were in charge of the general management of the units. They recruited staff, distributed functional responsibilities, and monitored the activities of their subordinates and their discipline.

The defendants are currently in custody, where they will await trial. They face imprisonment for 5 to 10 years with deprivation of the right to occupy certain positions or engage in certain activities for a term of 10 to 15 years and with or without confiscation of property.

The pre-trial investigation was conducted by the Security Service of Ukraine in Kherson region.

Earlier it was reported that the former deputy head of the Kherson security unit of the regional branch of Odesa Railways would be tried.

Also, the occupation head of the Kakhovka Vodokanal in Kherson region was sentenced to 11 years in prison.
