A former head of a utility company who became the occupying head of Oleshky will be tried in Kherson region.
According to the Oleshky District Prosecutor's Office of Kherson Region, in May 2022, the accused cooperated with the enemy and became the occupation head of Oleshky in Kherson District. As the head of the illegal administration, he approved the decisions of the local "council of deputies" to establish the boundaries of the district's territory, regulate the powers of enterprises and so-called "local self-government bodies," and approved the district budget.
In addition, he transferred a vehicle of the utility company he had previously headed to the occupation "administration of Oleshky district" for use.
The prosecutor's office did not name the suspect, but Intent learned from occupation Internet resources that it may be Heorhiy Zhuravko. According to the Chesno Movement, since May 2007, Zhuravko was the director of the Oleshky municipal enterprise - currently, the enterprise is under the jurisdiction of the Kherson District Council. In 2015, he ran as a deputy to the Tsyurupynsk District Council from the Opposition Bloc, but was not elected. At the same time, he also ran for the Oleshky district council, and was elected. In 2019, Heorhiy Zhuravko ran for the Verkhovna Rada (self-nominated in constituency 186), but did not win. In 2020, he simultaneously ran in the elections to the Kherson Regional Council and for the position of the head of the Oleshky City Council, but was not elected. He represented the Volodymyr Saldo Bloc political force. In May 2022, the occupiers appointed Heorhiy Zhuravko as the "mayor" of Oleshky.
Earlier, the Security Service of Ukraine served 58-year-old Oleksandr Dudka with a notice of suspicion of collaboration in absentia for his work as a gauleiter in the resort town of Skadovsk in Kherson region. Before that, the SBU served a notice of suspicion of collaboration in absentia to Serhiy Manuilenko, head of the occupation administration of Shyroke village in Kherson region. In addition, the <span style="font-size: 1em;">pre-trial investigation of criminal proceedings against two pseudo-deputies - the notorious </span><span style="font-size: 1em;"> Kakhovka </span>gauleiterPavlo Filipchuk<span style="font-size: 1em;"> and </span>Andriy Kharytonov<span style="font-size: 1em;"> - who were elected as so-called "deputies" from the aggressor state's</span>United Russia<span style="font-size: 1em;"> political party</span><span style="font-size: 1em;">, </span> <span style="font-size: 1em;">was completed </span>,<span style="font-size: 1em;"> and the indictments were sent to court. </span>
