The Odesa region has joined the nationwide "100 Workshops" project—with support from the European Union, the region will receive over 13 million hryvnias to renovate training workshops at colleges.

This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.

The ministry has selected 107 institutions of vocational and pre-higher education throughout Ukraine, which will receive state funding in 2026 to renovate workshops, laboratories, and classrooms.

In total, over 860.4 million hryvnias will be allocated from the state budget for this purpose. The Odesa region will receive 13.19 million hryvnias.

The list includes six institutions:

In the near future, these institutions will begin renovating classrooms, purchasing equipment, and carrying out repairs. This involves not only cosmetic renovations but also upgrading dormitories and creating energy-efficient and barrier-free spaces.

Students will learn to work with the technology used in modern manufacturing facilities.

Specifically, the colleges will acquire 3D printers, CNC machines, robotics systems, drones, and modern agricultural equipment—including tractors, combine harvesters, and seeders.

Culinary labs and workshops for metal and woodworking, as well as auto repair and maintenance, will also be upgraded.

“Today, Ukraine’s economy needs skilled workers, so our task is to create conditions in which students will acquire modern practical skills while still in school,” said Dmytro Zavgorodniy, Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine for Digital Development, Digital Transformation, and Digitalization.

According to him, modernizing the colleges is an investment in the quality of education and in encouraging young people to choose vocational education as a path to a sought-after profession.

When planning their facilities, educational institutions are using the guidelines from the “New Vocational Education” handbook, which the Ministry of Education and Science created in collaboration with Big City Lab. Together with Spilka Buro, the colleges are also updating their brand identities and websites.

Over the past two years, 132 modernized training and practical centers have already opened in Ukraine as part of the “100 Workshops” project. Another 70 or so centers are in the final stages of renovation.

The project is being implemented under the European Union’s Ukraine Facility Plan, a financial support program for Ukraine.
