Over the past 24 hours, law enforcement officers identified and detained three residents of the Odesa region involved in two terrorist attacks in Odesa. One person was killed and two others were injured as a result of the car bombings.

This was reported by the press office of the National Police in the Odesa region.

It has been preliminarily established that the suspects were recruited through one of the popular messaging apps.

Following instructions from their handlers, they planted homemade explosive devices under the victims’ cars, which were later detonated remotely. They were promised a monetary reward for carrying out the crime, but they did not receive the promised funds.

According to the regional prosecutor’s office, one of the suspects could face life imprisonment with confiscation of property. The other two could face up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property.

At the request of the prosecutor’s office, two 18-year-old suspects have already been taken into custody. Regarding the resident of Chornomorsk, the prosecutor’s office will file a motion with the court to keep him in custody without the right to bail.

Intent previously reported that several days ago, two passenger cars exploded in Odesa.

The second explosion occurred in the evening in the Kyivsky District. The car driven by a 51-year-old local taxi driver exploded. At the time of the explosion, he was on a fare and transporting a female passenger. Both were injured. The driver died from his injuries.
