A car exploded in Odesa for the second time that day

The police received a report of a car explosion on Nebesna Sotnia Avenue, near the intersection with Yaroslav the Wise Avenue, on the evening of July 28.

This was reported by the press office of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Odesa region.

According to preliminary information from law enforcement, the explosion occurred while the vehicle was in motion. The driver of the SUV died at the scene, and his female passenger was injured. She was hospitalized. An investigative team from the local police unit, forensic experts, and members of the police bomb squad were dispatched to the scene. 

On the morning of July 28, a crossover exploded in the Peresypsky District of Odesa. The 49-year-old driver was injured in the incident. The explosion occurred around 8:00 a.m. in the courtyard of a high-rise building on Semen Paliy Street. The man started the SUV and began driving, after which the vehicle exploded. The 49-year-old driver sustained injuries. Medical personnel examined him at the scene.

The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU)has classified the explosion inthe Peresypsky District of Odesa as a terrorist act and has already opened a corresponding criminal investigation.
