Shelling of Odesa damaged the environment by a quarter of a million

Specialists of the State Ecological Inspectorate of the Southwestern District investigated the consequences of the shelling of Odesa on June 3, which resulted in the fire of warehouses.

This was reported by the press service of the inspectorate.

The fire released almost 80 tons of carbon dioxide into the air, covering an area of 1,000 square meters.

This amount of carbon dioxide, according to the inspection, is equivalent to the emissions of about 20 passenger cars over a year of operation. The amount of damage caused is over UAH 242 thousand.

All the information collected was transferred to the Operational Headquarters of the State Environmental Inspectorate of Ukraine to be included in the unified register of environmental damage caused by armed aggression.

Earlier, specialists of the State Ecological Inspectorate of the Southwestern District investigated the consequences of the shelling of Petrivka village in Liubashiv community of Odesa region, which damaged private houses. State environmental inspectors of the Southwestern District inspected the area after the shelling. They recorded the contamination of land with a total area of over 800 square meters. The amount of damage caused is over 17.6 million hryvnias.

Then, for the fourth night in a row, Russians massively attacked Odesa region with attack drones. Energy facilities and residential buildings in the suburban area of Odesa were damaged, and on March 7, 16 private houses in the Podil district of Odesa region were damaged by a missile attack, the regional prosecutor's office reported.

Earlier, experts from the State Environmental Inspectorate of the Southwestern District investigated the consequences of the April 21 shelling that damaged residential areas in the Khadzhybey district of Odesa. A multi-storey residential building and a sports complex were damaged as a result of the shelling. During the inspection, the land plots with a total area of more than 300 square meters were found to be contaminated. The amount of damage caused amounted to almost UAH 10 million.
