Secretary of the Reni City Council resigns from her post

Deputies of the Reniia City Council in Odesa Oblast considered the application of the City Council Secretary Oksana Yefymenko for early resignation.

As Intent was informed, she is currently still acting as the city council secretary and her powers will terminate on December 31, 2025, and the issue of satisfying the application will be included in the agenda of the next session.

Oksana Yefymenko was elected to the position of the council secretary in December 2020. She plans to remain a council member.

The deputies also considered a draft decision on the budget of the Reni community for 2026. Daniela Buzyla, head of the financial department of the city council, spoke on this issue. According to the document, the community budget revenues, including intergovernmental transfers, will amount to UAH 467 million 690.6 thousand. Last year, the budget amounted to about UAH 350 million.

Meanwhile, the session of the Odesa District Council, which was supposed to take place on December 19, was again canceled due to the lack of a quorum. It was supposed to be the first meeting of the district council without a chairman, as Vitaliy Barvinenko, who held this position, resigned.

Only 23 deputies gathered, and Arkady Mkrtichyan , the deputy chairman of the council, acting as chairman, informed the audience about the key activities and future projects of the district council aimed at developing the district's communities, supporting social initiatives, and strengthening cooperation with the public sector.

This is not the first time that the district council has failed to gather a quorum. On September 19, members of the Odesa District Council gathered for a session, but failed to hold a meeting due to the lack of a quorum. Then the deputies from the Servant of the People faction did not come to the meeting, so only 32 deputies out of 33 required for a quorum were present. The meeting itself was held not in the hall of the Odesa Regional Council, as usual, but in the session hall of the Odesa City Council. But the session on December 19 was held again in the regional council building.

Meanwhile, the Odesa City Council held a meeting on December 12, at which they adopted the city budget for 2026, which was most likely the last meeting of the year. And the Odesa Regional Council held a meeting on December 4.
