The Security Service of Ukraine has served a notice of suspicion in absence to Russian propagandist singer Yaroslav Dronov, better known as Shaman.
This was reported by the SBU.
According to the case file, Dronov regularly performs at concerts and public events where he openly supports the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine. He is part of a circle of Kremlin-controlled performers who glorify the Russian military and combatants against Ukraine.
According to the evidence base collected by the SBU, at the end of 2022, Dronov recorded a video message in which he glorified representatives of the Russian armed forces and declared the legitimacy of Russia's war against Ukraine in 2014. In February 2023, he was also in the temporarily occupied territory of the left bank of the Kherson region, where he performed at a paid concert in support of the Kremlin regime.
Based on the results of the linguistic examination, the SBU confirmed the facts of Dronov's information and subversive activities. Based on the evidence collected, investigators served him a notice of suspicion in absence under Part 3 of Art. 436-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which concerns denial of the temporary occupation, recognition of the legitimacy of Russia's armed aggression against Ukraine and glorification of the Russian military. Comprehensive measures are currently underway to bring Dronov to justice.
Recently, the court announced the sentencing of former Ukrainian athlete from Crimea Olga Davydko for aiding the aggressor state. She was sentenced in absentia to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property.
Meanwhile, the case of a lecturer at a local university in Kherson, who is suspected of collaboration (part 3 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine), was brought to court.
