Director of the State Bureau of Investigation Oleksiy Sukhachov emphasizes that his subordinates acted within their authority and complied with the court order to bring him in for a forced visit.

He made this statement to the Ukrainska Pravda media outlet.

Oleksiy Sukhachov said that the SBI had watched the video published by the defendant's lawyers and noted that the Bureau's employees acted within their authority and did not respond to provocations from the defendant's representatives.

"The fact is that the defendant deliberately uses any excuse to avoid appearing at court hearings. Since Borisov was released on bail, he has attended only the first few hearings, and ignored all the others. Therefore, I believe that the court's decision to compel him to appear is fully justified," he said.

On October 20, the former head of the Odesa Regional Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support, Yevhen Borysov, who is accused of leaving the unit without permission, came to the hearing and said that he had been forcibly removed from the hospital. The defendant's lawyers said that the State Bureau of Investigation had exceeded their authority.

The prosecutor in the case stated that he had not received any complaints and was not aware of the events of the morning. The judge was trying to find out whether Borisov could participate in the hearing where a preventive measure was to be imposed on him.

On October 17, Yevgeniy Borisov did not appear at the next court session, and the judges decided that he should be brought to the hearing by force. At the hearing on October 16, it became known that Borysov was in a hospital in Kyiv, where he had gone on October 15 to attend a hearing at the High Anti-Corruption Court. The prosecutor did not know this information and he did not have any operational information about where Borisov was. According to the information they received from the National Police, Borisov was in Kyiv. The prosecutors sent a request to the medical institution indicated by the defense lawyers to confirm the information about the treatment of the accused.
