The former head of the Odesa Regional Territorial Center for Manning and Social Support, Yevhen Borysov, who is accused of leaving the unit without permission, came to the hearing and said that he had been forcibly removed from the hospital.

The defendant's lawyers said that the State Bureau of Investigation had exceeded their authority, Suspilne reported.

During the hearing, Yevhen Borysov said that employees of the State Bureau of Investigation took him from the hospital in Kyiv by force at 5:00 am today. According to him, they pushed Borysov's bed, used foul language, collected his belongings on their own and tried to tear the catheter out of his arm and took him to Odesa.

Lawyer Andriy Voyna added that in Kyiv, SBI officers demanded that doctors discharge Borisov and provided a certificate stating that he was "discharged on demand in satisfactory condition." They also provided the court with a video showing the scuffle and added that they had "picked up" Borisov in the middle of Odesa and brought him to the hearing.

The prosecutor in the case stated that he had not received any complaints and was not aware of the events of the morning. The judge tried to find out whether Borisov could participate in the hearing, where a preventive measure was to be imposed on him.

In the end, the judge announced a technical adjournment until October 24, because, in addition to the charge of unauthorized leaving the place of service, the Primorsky District Court of Odesa is to consider a case of obstruction of the lawful activities of the Armed Forces.

On October 17, Yevhen Borysov did not appear at the next court hearing, and the judges decided that he should be brought to the hearing by force. At the hearing on October 16, it became known that Borysov was in a hospital in Kyiv, where he had gone on October 15 to attend a hearing at the High Anti-Corruption Court. The prosecutor did not know this information and he did not have any operational information about where Borisov was. According to the information they received from the National Police, Borisov was in Kyiv. The prosecutors sent a request to the medical institution indicated by the defense lawyers to confirm the information about the treatment of the accused.
