Will be brought by force: Odesa ex-military commissar Borisov ignored the court

The former head of the Odesa Regional Territorial Center for Manning and Social Support, Oleh Borysov, who is accused of unauthorized abandonment of his unit and illegal enrichment, did not appear at the next court hearing.

His lawyer said that he was again in the hospital, but prosecutors did not receive this information and asked the court to forcefully bring Borisov to the hearing, according to Slidstvo Info.

At the hearing on October 16, it became known that Borysov was in a hospital in Kyiv, where he had gone on October 15 for a hearing in the High Anti-Corruption Court. The prosecutor did not know this information and he did not have any operational information about where Borisov was currently.

According to the information they received from the National Police, Borisov was in Kyiv. The prosecutors sent a request to the medical institution indicated by the lawyers to confirm the information about the treatment of the accused.

According to them, Borisov went to the medical center on October 15 as an emergency. He underwent surgery. And on the morning of October 16 at 8:09 a.m., he left the clinic in a satisfactory condition.

The judge asked the parties if anyone knew where he was now. The prosecutor replied that objectively, Borysov would not have been able to get to Odesa from Kyiv in a timely manner. Therefore, he asked to postpone the hearing until the afternoon.

The lawyers present at the hearing on October 16 replied that Borisov did not have personal transportation to get there on time.

One of the defense lawyers said that he had personally spoken with his client. Borisov told him that he was looking for a car and would get to Odesa. Therefore, the lawyer asked to postpone the hearing until October 17.

At the hearing on October 17, the defense filed a motion to postpone the hearing. According to the lawyers, Borysov was unable to get tickets, and could only get them for October 18. In addition, at the meeting on October 17, the lawyer stated that Borisov had applied to another medical institution, where he was receiving round-the-clock inpatient treatment. This is the sixth hospital.

The defense requested that the hearing be postponed until October 20. The prosecutor stated that according to the information received, Borisov was discharged from the previous medical facility on the night of October 16. He filed a motion to compel the defendant to attend the hearing.

The prosecutor added that Borisov did not stay at the address where the hospital is located at night. In his opinion, Yevhen Borisov is avoiding the summons to appear in court. Therefore, he asked the court to impose an obligation on the State Bureau of Investigation operatives to find and bring Borisov to the next hearing. Now the SBI operatives have until Monday to do so.
