In Mykolaiv region, a court will consider the case of a 20-year-old resident of Nova Odesa, who is accused of setting fire to cars of the Ukrainian Armed Forces for money. According to the investigation, he received money for setting fire to two cars in Mykolaiv and passed the video of the crime to the customer.

This was reported by the press service of the Mykolaiv Regional Prosecutor's Office.

According to the investigation, a 20-year-old resident of Nova Odesa agreed to an offer from an unknown person to set fire to military vehicles for a reward via an Internet messenger.

In January 2025, he deliberately set fire to two cars in Mykolaiv with a flammable liquid, filmed the arson and handed them over to the client as proof of the "work" he had done, for which he received UAH 7,000.

Prosecutors of the Mykolaiv Regional Prosecutor 's Office submitted to the court an indictment against a man who, according to the investigation, organized arson attacks on vehicles of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The man, who already had a criminal record, is accused of obstructing the lawful activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine during a special period (Part 1 of Article 114-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The accused is currently in custody. The pre-trial investigation was conducted by the SBU Office in Mykolaiv region. If found guilty, he faces 5 to 8 years in prison.

A resident of Odesa region will also be tried for organizing arson attacks on military vehicles in Mykolaiv. According to the investigation, he ordered the arsons for money, involved two acquaintances, provided them with instructions and demanded video confirmation. The man is being held without bail and could face up to eight years in prison.

In March, on the contrary, the court released a juvenile from Mykolaiv region from serving his sentence. He agreed to perform tasks for a reward - to set fire to various objects. In October, together with his girlfriend, he set fire to a transformer substation in the Kryvoozerska community and filmed it on his phone. He received 200 USDT on his e-wallet for his actions. He was sentenced to five years in prison, but was released on the condition of compensation for damages.
